Thonglor police probe Asoke lakorn shoot

Following public outcry, the commander of Thonglor police station is investigating whether his officers allowed the Channel 3 lakorn to halt traffic at Asoke intersection for two hours Monday.

Royal Thai Police spokesman Prawuth Thawornsiri said yesterday the organization has told all 88 police departments in Bangkok to intervene immediately if they find a lakorn shoot blocking traffic, while the incident on Monday is still being investigated.

The shoot for the channel 3 soap “Life Wave” featuring superstars Urassaya Sperbund and Prin Suparat enraged hundreds of motorists and non-soap fans Monday for having the nerve to block the hectic Asoke intersection at noon.

The producers halted traffic to film a scene where the leading lady crashes into the male lead’s car which was followed by an argument and then them falling deeply in love. Obviously.

Thai Lakorn Co. Ltd., who was behind the production, was fined THB1,000.

Prawuth added the organization is also considering whether to increase the fine if the same incident happens again, Daily News reported.
