Horrified by humanity’s inaction to tame global warming? How does a plucky pal wagging her tail sound? Seething at the cavalier cruelty and injustice going unchecked? Become a hero to a young innocent with a heart full of love. Stressed out by much more personal matters? Stare into a pair of big warm eyes that always say “I’m yours.”

It is scientifically proven that there are few things a puppy cannot improve. Come review a fine selection of your next best friends on Saturday, when the all-stars of Bangkok’s animal community throw in for their first combined puppy adoption event held at a convenient downtown location.

Among the puppies you can meet are the “Spice Girls” (Clove, Ginger, etc.), five lovely and easygoing puppies ready to move into the right home. We asked one of the event’s organizers, Kirsty Smith, to tell us more about these fine young animals.

“They’re five fluffy, cuddly, healthy puppies,” she said. “All have been vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms. They’ve been in awesome foster homes, hanging out with two older dogs and a cat; hanging out with kids.”

That means they really can fit into any household, even those dominated by cat!

The event’s at UnionSpace between Ekkamai and Thonglor, the same venue that sees regular Sunday kitty adoption parties. The puppy adoption brings together folks from communities like Bangkok Pet Lovers, Soi Dogs Matter, and Thai Temple Dogs page, which Smith has set up to home dogs left (and very well cared for) at a temple in the Nakhon Ratchasima city of Pak Chong.

Everyone needs a family, and these puppies are no exception. So feel good saving a beautiful life from anxious uncertainty.

But, in fact, we already know who’s really saving whom here.

That said, interested parties will need to go through a screening process to make sure they can be good providers – they’re not just handing out puppies, here.

There’s no charge to adopt. Once the adoption agreements are signed, the puppies come desexed and fully vaccinated, with convenient vaccine cards to keep them healthy (Note: puppies are still too young to be spayed or neutered).

Correction: This story has been updated to reflect fact that puppies have yet to be snipped.
