Starting today, fully vaccinated travelers arriving in Thailand must only stay one night in government-approved accommodations and take one PCR test.

Under the newly announced rules for the so-called Test & Go travel scheme, those who test negative will be required to do a self-ATK test on the fifth day of their visit and upload the results using the health department’s Mor Chana smartphone app.

New arrivals must have obtained authorization to travel with a Thailand Pass and a medical certificate with negative RT-PCR test results from no more than 72 hours prior to traveling.

Under the previous rules, travelers had to take a second PCR test and stay two nights in isolation.

Additionally, foreign travelers must have a COVID insurance policy of at least US$20,000 as opposed to the previous US$50,000 requirement. Thais and foreigners with valid work permits are exempt.

Travelers can arrive via air and water from all countries, but land crossings are reserved for citizens of the neighboring countries at reopened border checkpoints such as those in Nong Khai, Udon Thani and Songkhla provinces.

Unaccompanied travelers 12 to 17 must be vaccinated except for those traveling with their parents. Children 6 to 11 don’t need to be vaccinated.

All rules will apply to anyone already approved or pending approval for a Thailand Pass.

The full details are over at the Tourism Authority of Thailand Newsroom.

Unvaccinated travelers are able to travel via the Sandbox or AQ sandbox programs.
