The Terminal 21 shopping mall has announced it will reopen at 5pm on Tuesday afternoon after a fire that broke out earlier in the morning.

The Asoke shopping centre said on its Facebook page that business would continue as usual after the fire at the Piri Piri Flaming Chicken restaurant on the fourth floor forced the evacuation of shoppers and the mall’s temporary closure on Tuesday.

In true Bangkok style, despite the evacuation, crowds were seen gathering at the scene to check out what the fuss was all about.

However in more dramatic scenes, firefighters were seen being taken away on stretchers after emergency services raced to the building where smoke was seen rising from the building.

The men had been taken for treatment after suffering from smoke inhalation according to PPTV News.

However authorities said there were no other injuries.

Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of some cheery looking firemen.
