A man stabbed multiple times in a street brawl sought safety in a Bangkok Family Mart last night only to die right in front of the cashier.

The man, who’s yet to be identified but was between 30 and 40, died on the floor near the entrance of the convenience store in the capital’s central district of Wang Thonglang, according to the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, who were called to respond at about 7pm.

He had been stabbed in his stomach, face and right arm. Though rescuers attempted to resuscitate the man, they were unable to revive him.

Unidentified witnesses said they’d seen the man fighting another man in the street. They were seen chasing each other to near the Family Mart, where the man who’d been stabbed ran inside to hide from the other. His attacker, meanwhile, fled the scene.

Police said they would check security camera footage from around the area to identify the other party.
