Songkran Run: Have fun with water fight and Thai dancing on 10k route

If you feel like getting into a water fight but dread the cheesy Khao San scene, get a good workout instead at Songkran Run 2016.

The run gives you a new way to burn off those calories while cooling down from April’s heat by combining a race with the famous water festival.

Runners can opt for runs of either 2.5k, 5k, 7.5k, or the full 10k. Along the route, there will be three fun stations that will drench you and get you into the festive vibe.

At the Water Fun station, you will be splashed with water while the Powder Play station will throw some powder on your face. Lastly, dance the fatigue away to the sounds of a Thai traditional band.

There will also be a “Lam Tad” battle (the Thai traditional version of a rap battle) to entertain runners at the finish line.

Water and sport drinks will be provided along the track. Those who complete the race will get special gifts.

Tickets for the race costs THB350, which comes with a flower T-shirt and a surprise gift. Check the event’s Facebook page for registration.
