Despite stagnation in other locales, social media continues to grow explosively in Thailand.
Whether it’s for love of sharing their meals, selfies or political rants, millions of new Thai users continue joining Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to an online marketer.
As of last month, 28 million Thai users are on Facebook, 4.5 million have joined Twitter and 1.7 million have Instagram accounts, according to data from Zocial Inc.
If Zocial’s numbers are accurate, that would mean more than 40 percent of the kingdom’s total population is on Facebook.
Tech in Asia’s Saiyai Sakawee writes those services are growing even faster than the year prior: Facebook by 53 percent, Twitter by 350 percent and Instagram by 13 percent.
