Sales of alcohol will be prohibited nationwide tomorrow, the end of the Buddhist Lent holiday.

As usual, the ban is imposed on all booze sales at shops and restaurants, so better stock up if drinking is a no exceptions, every day kind of thing for you.

The booze ban will be enforced the entirety of Wednesday, meaning it starts at midnight (tonight) and will last 24 hours. Aren’t you glad we’re here to do the math for you?

Many bars and restaurants have posted announcements that they’re either closing tomorrow or will only sell you mocktails.

Operators who sell alcohol during the ban will face a THB10,000 fine and/or a six-month jail term. The rest of us just face a dry hump day.
