Refused taxi fares 3 in 4 transport complaints

Not even the Songkran spirit can change the service mindedness of some.

Of the 800 or so complaints received by a transportation hotline during the holidays, about 75 percent were about taxi drivers refusing fares. Officials said they’ll fine all the reported taxi drivers, which can be up to THB1,000.

This year the Department of Land Transport also set up complaint centers at three bus Bangkok bus terminals, which received about 300 complaints about overcharging and reckless driving.
