In the spirit of good sportsmanship, the game will go on.

Leicester City’s match against Cardiff this Saturday is set to go ahead on the one-week anniversary of team owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s death in a horrific helicopter crash outside the team’s stadium.

In honor of the Thai billionaire who brought the city an improbable English Premier League championship in 2016, there will be a minute of silence before kick-off and the players will wear black armbands, reported the BBC.

The moment of silence will also be replicated in all of this weekend’s top matches across the Premiership.

Meanwhile, as condolences from football fans around the world continue to pour in on social media, the UK’s Department of Transport Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is looking into the cause of the tragic crash that killed Vichai and four others in the car park of King Power Stadium.

On Monday night, AAIB confirmed in a written statement that a black box, which recorded the flight’s voice and data, was recovered in the wreckage of the helicopter crash

However, no details regarding the recording have yet been revealed.

The recorder, which was reportedly “subject to intense heat as a result of the post-accident fire,” has since been transported to Farnborough, a town in northeast Hampshire, for further examination.

“We have inspectors here from all four air accident investigation disciplines: engineering, operations, flight data and human factors,” declared the AAIB.

The team is currently gathering evidence and expects to be at the crash site until the end of this week — at which point they plan to transport the wreckage to a specialist facility also in Farnborough.

Meanwhile, an online petition on change.org has been started to change the name of King Power Stadium to Vichai Stadium, in hopes of immortalizing his achievements.

The petition has since gathered 2,141 backers in the past two days.
