Prayuth’s new ethics testing and nationalist education for kids

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha seems to be happiest when he’s bouncing a ball around or telling everyone how they can better serve Thailand.

This week, which includes Children’s Day on Saturday, he’s all about the nation’s youth. He has announced that the Education Ministry will be creating and adding a morality and ethics test to be given to all students this year.

He said of the forthcoming test, “For example, we might ask students what they should do if they see a person drop a wallet or jaywalk in front of them.”

Comments about the test came yesterday during an address at Government House where 781 outstanding students were being honored for their academic achievements, reported Bangkok Post.

He said that the testing will help young Thais learn about their national responsibility and duties as well as how to properly respect their country and the king.

The PM noted that he wants to see young Thais have moral and ethical values for the sake of the future of Thailand.

Prayuth has also designated a motto for Children’s Day 2017: “Thai Children Strive to Study for National Stability.”

We think it’s very catchy. If this whole PM thing doesn’t work out, Prayuth might have a future in writing ads.
