It must be a storm of distressed bunnies and undead fish demons inside the mind of Aof Smith, who will bring his twisted Wonderland take to Subhashok The Arts Centre’s “Skeptical.”
After working and producing in the United States, Aof returns to the motherland with a sack full of his fertile dreamscapes capturing the excitement, fear and confusion of human beings with some discernable political undertones. Aof’s work regularly features characters such as a fluffy bulldog named “Furry,” and a placid girl sitting at the heart of his pop-surreal world.
The exhibition will feature 35 oil paintings with an opening reception sonically serviced by DJ Panlert, founder of hipster music sanctuary Indie 10’s, to set the beat for your dancing eyes.
Entry is free. The opening reception starts at 6:30pm, June 26, and the exhibition runs through July 31.
