Police search for Nataree owner and manager after arrest warrants issued today

Ratchada court issued arrest warrants for the owner and manager of the notorious Nataree Massage Parlor today following the discovery of underaged girls being trafficked into prostitution.

The parlor’s owner Prasert Sukkhee, 58, and manager and license-holder Sommai Phatsing, 45, are being sought and are believed to be hiding in or around Bangkok.

The two men have been jointly charged with 14 crimes that include human trafficking, employing underage girls in the sex trade, running a brothel, providing lodging to foreigners, harboring illegal migrants and running a business without the correct licenses.

This comes a week after last Tuesday’s police and Interior Ministry raid on the famous Huai Khwang pleasure parlor after getting a tip about human trafficking from a non-governmental organization. The police found 15 underage girls and 77 foreign nationals working. They detained a total of 121 women believed to be employed in the sex trade, about 100 of them were foreign nationals that were mostly from Myanmar and Laos.

They also found a book containing long lists of names that appear to have received bribes from the massage parlor. They included people ranging from low-ranking local cops all the way up to the tourist police and immigration.

Many of the girls were also carrying blue cards thought to indicate that the police had been bribed for illegal protection.

Five high-ranking police officials, including Huay Khwang station chiefs, inspectors and the Metropolitan Police Division 1 commander, have already been transferred to inactive duty as the investigation continues, according to Thairath.
