Englishman Danny Glass has been charged with reckless driving causing the death of his pregnant girlfriend, British mommy vlogger Sophie Anderson.

Anderson, 41, was riding pillion when Glass, 29, lost control of the scooter they were riding on after he braked suddenly to avoid ramming into the back of a car that he said braked suddenly last Monday, May 8.

Anderson fell onto the road and was run over by an 18-wheel truck driven by Nattawoot Kimchue, 30, from Phang Nga Province.

She was six months pregnant. Glass was the father of the unborn child.

Anderson was also mother to 5-year-old Shaye, from a previous relationship. Shaye lived with her and Glass in Phuket, but has since been taken to live with his father in Bangkok.

Anderson vlogged under the name “Sophie’s Joy” and espoused attachment parenting and long-term breast feeding. She had gained some notoriety in the mommy blogging and vlogging communities over her belief that children should be breastfed until eight years old.

“Both men are being held responsible for the death of Anderson, because both were driving recklessly,” said Lt. Col. Sanit Nookong, of Thalang Police, of Glass and Nattawoot.

“The drivers have already been charged,” he confirmed.

“Right now, the investigation is not yet closed because we are still waiting for the autopsy to be released. Then they will go to court,” Col. Sanit added.

The case echoes an incident in early February in which Australian tourist Thomas Keating, 22, was charged with reckless driving causing death after an accident that resulted in the death of his girlfriend Emily Jayne Collie, 20.

The two crashed jet-skis accidentally off Kata Beach in southern Phuket, Collie sustained severe injuries in the crash which later claimed her life.

Keating was given a two-year suspended jail sentence and fined THB5,000 after pleading guilty to the charge.
