The BTS and MRT will run into the early hours of the new year to get party goers home after the countdown.
On New Year’s Eve, the BTS and MRT will operate until 2am the next day – but if you stay later for the after-party, you’re on your own.
Taxis are especially difficult to find on New Year’s Eve as many drivers take the day off to spend time with their family.
For those planning to take many trips throughout the day, a one-day pass for BTS skytrains will be sold at Mo Chit, Siam, Chidlom and Saphan Taksin stations for THB140.
The pass can be used on New Year’s Eve only.
