While there’s a 7-Eleven every 200 meters in Bangkok, this week, the Japanese-owned convenience store chain has begun testing their new delivery service in two neighborhoods in the capital.

The service — aimed to penetrate the THB26 billion (about US$78 million) food delivery market in Thailand — has beta-launched at Bangkok’s Borommaratchachonnani Soi 4 and Ratchaphruek’s Siwalee village branches, according to Prachachat.

The service is available from 6am to 10pm, and the delivery covers a few alleys and condos near those two branches. This includes residences in Borommaratchachonnani Soi 4 and 6, Lumpini Park Pinklao Condo, Chaiyapruek-Ratchapreuk Village, and Benyapa-Ratchapreuk Village.

The delivery is absolutely free for customers that spend a mere THB100 (US$3), and promises to get smartphone orders to your door within 30 minutes.

Customers in the service area are now able to place orders on their smartphone, by talking to the operator at 7-Eleven’s account on LINE, and they can pay through their phones with True Wallet or even give the delivery man cash directly.

This launch comes at the heels of their successful run in Japan, which debuted their delivery service just earlier this month.

Reuters report that the new service plans to reach Japan’s entire 7-Eleven network of about 20,000 stores in the near future.
