The Chidlom public masturbator whose actions were captured by a commuter on Facebook Live turned himself in Monday in a highly stage-managed performance overseen by Thai police.

The flasher, identified as Thanyapat Srinoppanan, 29, told police that he has issues — he cannot control himself when he sees an attractive woman, and often times he doesn’t even realize that he’s masturbating.

What?

Not that he hasn’t tried to get better, you see. Thanyapat, who works as a salesman, looked up phone numbers of therapists for advice, but he just couldn’t afford therapy, Thairath reported.

At the press conference about the incidents, Thanyapat also made a public apology to Methawarin Nakngam, the female office worker in Chidlom, who decided to livestream his actions because she was offended.

Holding a golden tray of flower garlands, he said: “I intend to apologize to you. I want you to give me a chance and forgive me. I promise that I won’t repeat my action.”

“Please don’t do it again,” Methawarin responded with a wai.

Preliminarily, police charged him with public obscenity. He is facing a one-month jail term and fine of up to THB5,000.
