Health officials announced that they won’t enforce a booze ban on Thursday, the day of the royal cremation, but they are asking the public not to drink out of respect for the late king.

The Ministry of Health instead asked people, in an open letter shared on social media, not to drink between Oct. 25-29, reported Khaosod English.

Ministry department spokesman Asadang Ruayajin said that no ban will be enforced but it is expected that most bars and clubs will close on Thursday in a show of respect to the late king, and we have already reported that 7-Eleven will close on Thursday from 2:30pm until midnight.
