Woman arrested at Suvarnabhumi for smuggling cocaine in dreadlocks

South African woman Nobanda Nolubabalo, 23, was reportedly arrested recently at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport for attempting to smuggle 1.5 kilos of cocaine hidden in her dreadlocks into Thailand.

Police allegedly noticed a suspicious white powder in her natty dreads shortly after she exited her Qatar Airways flight, which originated in Sao Paulo, Brazil and stopped over in Qatar.

Police then searched Nolubabalo’s hair and found the cocaine, which has a street value of THB4.5 million, DPA reported. Nolubabalo confessed that she was being paid THB60,000 to deliver the drugs to a customer at a Bangkok hotel, police said.
