Here’s a little proof one is never too old to learn — an 84-year-old grandma who decided she was going to pass the 6th grade, and this week finally made it a reality.

On Sunday, Kaysorn Sukserm of rural Yasothon province, wore a school uniform to take her Prathom 6 exam at Kum Keun Kaew Chanoopathum School, which serves as a testing facility for non-formal education.

Wuttichai Suphap, a teacher at the school who spotted Kaysorn, decided to film the grandma riding her bicycle home after the exam.

“In my day, the highest mandatory education level was fourth-grade, so I didn’t have a chance to learn,” Kaysorn said in the video, adding that, despite the obvious age gap, she has made many friends in her 6th grade classes.

Asked why she didn’t ask her kids or grandkids to drive her to the exam, a sweet Kaysorn said that they all had jobs, and she didn’t want to bother them.

Wutthichai wrote in a lengthy post that he was very impressed by the granny, who didn’t let age get in the way of her goals.

“I was so impressed and surprised to see that the granny is still working to improve herself, breaking all the traditional ideas about education. She’s not embarrassed at all to join classes with students as young as her children and grandchildren.”

We’re not crying, you’re crying.
