Mother’s Day Miracle: Traffic cops deliver baby in Ratchathewi

Four traffic policemen saved Mother’s Day by taking on a midwife’s duty and delivering healthy male baby yesterday in the Ratchathewi district.

Led by Bangkok’s famous “officer mom” Mana Jokkoksoong, the policemen rushed to a home on Payathai Road yesterday after receiving a call stating that a woman had gone into labor and it was simply too late to take her to hospital.

Officer Mana, who said last year he delivered a total of 47 babies by himself, along with three other personnel who received midwife training, helped Sirinan Ngamkaew, 20, safely give birth to an adorable baby boy.

The officers were then joined by the paramedics, who took Sirinan to Kluay Nam Thai Hospital.

The baby’s father, Piyapong Kammanee, 29, said his son’s birth was the best news he could have hoped for on Mother’s Day. The family hasn’t named the baby yet but will take the boy to personally thank the policemen after they are allowed to leave the hospital, Daily News reported.
