More scandals emerge involving Louis Vuitton-toting monk

The reputation of Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo, the head abbot of Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma, is apparently on the wane, as more scandals emerge involving his profligate lifestyle.

This weekend, Luang Pu Nenkham was accused of building a THB2 million home in Srisaket Province for his ex-girlfriend. According to Kapook, the father of the ex-girlfriend said that Luang Pu Nenkham’s relationship with his daughter stretched back to 2003. He had promised to leave the monkhood in the next three years to marry her, but never did. The house was left 60% complete.

A spokesperson for Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma shrugged off the accusation, saying that Luang Pu Nenkham was only 24 at the time, implying that the monk simply did not have enough money to build the house.

Luang Pu Nenkham is also being heavily scrutinized by netizens. A video of the monk serving as a presenter for an air purifier recently swept through the online community and drew grave criticisms.

“This is the brand I use everyday in my dwelling,” said Luang Pu Nenkham in the promotional sketch. “I wake up every morning fresh and cheerful.”
