Officials in Pattaya hope to clean up the resort town to make it more family-friendly and less of a sin city, as Coconuts has reported. Now, a cable station in Pattaya that has become known for stirring up drama, Sophon Cable,  has published a mock-up picture of what the town’s main attraction, Walking Street, would look like if officials are actually successful in their effort.

The before pic (below) shows Walking Street as it is now, full of gaping tourists, go-go clubs, cheap bars, and cheesy souvenirs:

The after pic (above) shows a disturbingly sanitized street that looks like it could be anywhere. The two-story go-go bars with girls dancing in the upper windows have become big box stores and fancy eateries and there’s not a person in sight.

Sure, Walking Street may not always reflect well on the town, but it sure does bring in loads of money and tourists.
