Man seeks help from Consumer Protection Office for bad double eyelid job

A Thai man filed a complaint with the Office of Consumer Protection Board yesterday after he went through a total of five double eyelid surgeries at an unnamed hospital, but they just left him with uneven, swollen eyes.

The 26-year-old man, whose name was not mentioned, said he first had double eyelid surgery in 2008 at a private hospital in Bangkok’s Bang Phlat district, for which he paid THB15,000. However, in March of last year, his eyelids started to sag so he went for a fix at the same hospital.

This time he paid for a THB70,000 for a package of eyelid, chin and nose jobs, Sanook reported.

After the second surgery, the man said his eyelids were twisted. He had to go through three more surgeries to fix his eyelids in July and September 2016, which left him with wounds on his eyelids.

He said he cannot close his eyes now due to the swelling, and he has to wear sunglasses at all times.

Last month, the hospital offered to fix his eyelids for the fourth time, but he felt uneasy. The hospital offered to refund his money, but it refused to compensate for the bad jobs.

Therefore, the man decided to file a complaint with the officials, hoping he would receive fair compensation to have his eyelids fixed at another hospital.
