Police are tracking down two assailants who killed a 26-year-old man in an iPhone robbery in Lat Phrao district.

The victim, Wasin Leungjam, was found dead in Soi Sukhonthasawat 27 last night. CCTV footage showed that he was attacked by two men who approached him on a motorcycle. Wasin fought back, leading one of the men to stab him in the neck and Wasin fell to the ground.

It is reported only his iPhone was missing while his wallet and THB1,000 cash were intact.

Wasin was visiting his friend in the area and was seen using the ATM at a convenience store before the incident. Jesada Leungjam, Wasin’s father, told Thairath in tears that his deceased son was the youngest of his three children and the only son. He used to work as a luggage loader and recently quit to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot.

The father begged the police to find justice for his son and said that he hopes no other family would ever suffer the same loss.

Two years ago, a man was killed in Phaya Thai district in an iPad robbery.
