The rainy season will officially start at the end of the month, according to the experts at the Meteorological Department.
They’ve announced that Thailand will be spared any El Niño action this year and that there should be enough precipitation for agriculture.
To follow up on those optimistic predictions, Department Head Wanchai Sak-udomchai commented yesterday that the rainfall should not be so much as to start any widescale flooding, reported Thai PBS.
The rains should be heaviest at the beginning of the season, during the end of May and beginning of June, and lighter as the season tapers off, in September and early October.
The overall rainfall expected this year should be just slightly higher than normal.
