A crew went to work this morning to make Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha’s floating market a reality only to find some skeletons in the canal.
Twenty-five bone fragments thought to be human were retrieved near the Government House this morning from Phadung Krung Kasem canal during a cleanup operation and will be removed before visitors are welcomed to the floating market on Feb. 12.
Aside from what appears to be human leg, hip and back bones, authorities also found a tear gas cannister and electronic components that could be part of homemade bomb equipment.
It’s the same area where a previous crew in June discovered a dead body stuffed in a bag and a variety of weapons during a clean-up after the site was vacated by anti-government demonstrators.
Authorities said the newly found bones appeared dumped in the canal at least two years ago. They will be sent to Institute of Forensic Medicine for inspection, Matichon reported.
