French students throw fundraising party for round-the-world tuk tuk trip

Electric tuk tuk, booze, pool and French boys.

That’s the gist of a party at Ocean Bangkok to send off three French students who will return home from Bangkok in an electric tukขtuk they designed while exchange students at Mahidol University.

To raise funds for their trip and promote their eco-engineering project, students Karen Koulakian, Ludwig Merz and Rémy Fernandes-Dandré will show off the fully electric, solar-powered tuk-tuk they plan to spend 120 days driving across 16 countries from Bangkok to Toulouse, France, to raise awareness about alternative energy.
