Trending on Thai social media over the last few days are the shocking photos and sad story of a gorgeous young woman who has been deformed by facial bone cancer.
Rattanaporn Kalayasai posted before-and-after pictures of what the disease has done to her face over the last year. She was diagnosed when she went to the doctor for a tooth ache in November 2015.
In the pictures, the left side of her face has become deformed. It appears to be so inflated that netizens accused the girl of photoshopping the pictures to gain public sympathy.
In response, she posted a video on Tuesday to prove the truth of her photos. There’s no denying the changes to her face in the video, in which she explains, in Thai, that she has bone cancer, also known as osteosarcoma, which has made her look the way she does.
Over the course of her treatment in her hometown of Sakhon Nakhon province, she has undergone chemotherapy. She decided not to undergo the suggested surgery that would cause her to lose her left eye since she said that she still hopes to be able to work in order to care for her daughter.
She currently can’t see out of her left eye or breathe well through her nose, according to the video.
“The most important thing is I get moral support from people who love me and my family. I hope to live and spend time with them as long as I can. I will keep fighting,” said Rattanaporn, reported Bangkok Post.
She also thanked the people who sent her wishes to recover and also those that had sent her money.
