A steel square pipe flew off a pickup truck and careened through the rear windshield of a Toyota all the way to its dashboard console on a highway in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian on Saturday.
Photos of the crazy incident spread and traumatized the motorists on Twitter this week.
The pipe flew between the two car seats, so the driver Watthiraporn Phrompongsri escaped uninjured, thank heavens.
In a report yesterday, Watthiraporn spoke of the near-death incident. She initially thought her car was rear-ended when she heard the bang, then she saw the steel pipe slide right next to her body.
The insurance company of the pickup truck paid for the damage while the driver of the truck said he bought steel pipes from a shop and blamed them for not tightening the pipes securely enough.
The driver was let off with a fine for reckless driving.
