People have been marveling at the sight of a food deliveryman, decked out in signature Foodpanda pink, paddling across the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao city to satisfy a customer’s order, and hunger.
“Foodpanda now has marine delivery services,” read the caption to photos originally taken by Pradit Saengdee, which quickly spread across social media to pages such as local news page Chachoengsao Foodies.
“Props to the Foodpanda of Chachoengsao. Riding a motorbike is outdated. Let’s paddle a boat,” it wrote. “This is the new frontier for food delivery.”
Chachoengsao, located just east of Bangkok, last year became one of the delivery service’s newest markets. Run by Berlin-based Delivery Hero, Foodpanda launched its delivery service in Bangkok in 2012. It’s since expanded operations to 62 provinces nationwide.
