Five family members, including twin baby girls, die in Nawamin home fire

Five family members died early this morning when a fire took their three-storey home in Bangkok’s Bueng Kum district.

Around 4am today, a fire occurred in a shophouse on Soi Nawamin 99.

One of the four survivors, Rattana Tongchaiwattanaamphol, 36, said that she heard a bang, which she suspected to be transformer explosion, so she told her family to escape.

Five family members made it out of the fire, but four were still stuck in the house. Her brother, Jamras, went back in to rescue his mother, sister-in-law and one-year-old twin daughters. Tragically, all of them were killed.

It took one hour for the firefighters to control the flames. It was presumed that the cause of fire was an electrical short circuit, Khaosod reported.
