Officials have been able to put out a blaze that broke out on the third floor of the Fortune Town IT Mall on Ratchada Road this morning.

The fire reportedly started at a shop that sells audio electronics at 8am, and it took approximately one hour for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

Fortunately, the fire did not spread to other shops. Authorities will soon allow shop operators to enter the area, according to Manager.

The mall is expected to open later this afternoon.

The smoke from the blaze worsened traffic in the already-congested area and caused the MRT to shut Exit 1 at Rama IX station, which is the exit in front of Fortune Town. It has reportedly been reopened.

No one was injured in the fire.
