Death toll from southern floods reaches 36

Today, the death count from the floods creeped up to 36 while one person is still missing, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

The floods have affected more than 1.2 million people in 12 provinces.

The floods are receding in Ranong, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat but continues in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Songkhla, and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Nakhon Si Thammarat was the most devastated with 23 flooded districts flooded while Surat Thani suffered from 17 flooded districts.
