Around 1pm today, the 199 emergency hotline received a call regarding an accident at the Lumpini Park Riverine condominium construction site on Phra Ram 3 road in Bangkok’s Yan Nawa district.
According to FM91 Traffic and News agency, three of the casualties have been sent to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital.
The identifies of the casualties have not been revealed to the media.
One construction worker was trapped in the top half of the broken crane, which still remains atop the building, and could not climb down due to a broken leg.
About an hour ago, rescuer workers climbed up to the trapped man and secured him with a rope and harness in order to slowly propel him down, reported Khaosod.

Though it is unclear how many floors have already been built, the building is set to be 35 floors high, according to the development company’s website.
Deputy Governor of Bangkok Chakkapan Piewngam told reporters that he plans to file charges against the parties responsible for the crane because they, reportedly, did not obtain proper operation permits from the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning.
Construction has since been suspended while experts investigate the cause of the accident.
