Police arrested a Chinese man at his condo on Pattaya Sai 2 Road last night after a Chinese woman accused him of raping and blackmailing her with footage of himself sexually assaulting her. He asked for THB50,000 cash.
Chinese national Li Weibin, 26, was seized during a police set-up in which he accepted money from the victim, identified as Long Pioxue, a 26-year-old businesswoman.
Pioxue told police that she got to know Weibin on a business trip to Thailand. At one point, he raped her and held her captive before blackmailing her with the rape tape many times. She had already paid him off over his threats regarding the footage.
As the alleged rapist recently demanded THB50,000 cash, and Pioxue decided to seek help from police.
Weibin will be prosecuted, Sanook reported.
