Canine Commute: Naughty dog rescued after leisurely stroll on BTS tracks (VIDEO)

A blissfully unaware pup was spotted happily strolling along the BTS tracks last night in Bangkok’s Ploenchit station and rescue teams started a frantic search to find him before he was run down by a train.

Facebook user Khoonkrai Peera captured video of the dog wandering the tracks at Ploenchit headed towards Chidlom station.

The Animal Rescue and Por Teck Tung foundations were informed and came to the rescue right away. Radio stations JS100 and TRS 99.5 cooperated to communicate with the BTS company and ask permission for the rescue team to work on the premises.

According to one of the rescue staff, Surakitti Plengsa-Nguan, the team looked out for the dog at Chidlom station but later received word from the Chidlom guard that he fled back to Ploenchit, so the team rushed back to look.

They struggled to find the dog because the BTS was still in operation and in use by many riders at that hour. The BTS could not turn the electricity off right away but had to wait for the station to close at midnight.

After the electricity was cut off at 12:30am, the rescue team went down looking for the dog on the tracks. Just a moment later, they found the naughty pup hiding beneath the platform.

The team successfully rescued the dog and he was brought to an animal hospital for a check up this morning.

The mischievous little cutie is also up for adoption.
