Unfortunately, the unseasonable rain that disrupted Bangkok this week was not a one-and-done.

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in most parts of the country until this weekend as a northwesterly wind continues to move across the Gulf of Thailand.

That’s bad news for Bangkok’s hip, since outdoor events like Sunday’s Chinanatown Fair, Saturday’s Not So Wasted sustainability fair at The Commons, the all-weekend Made By Legacy 9 vintage fair, and tonight’s ladies’ free-flow Bohemian Rooftop Party at the outdoor Mojjo skybar are all outdoors — or at least partially outdoors.

According to the department, rain can be expected all over Thailand — including Bangkok — until Sunday. As a silver lining to the dreary clouds we can expect, cold air coming in from China on Monday will cause the temperatures to drop by 4-6 degrees Celsius.

Citizens nationwide, including those in the city, have been advised to brace themselves for gusty winds and wet weather conditions during this period.
