A 12-year-old boy was being treated at Police General Hospital on Thursday afternoon after he fell two stories to the ground at a downtown Bangkok shopping mall.

At around 2:50pm, the boy fell to CentralWorld first floor, according to Pathumwan police. They described his condition as stable as of 4:45pm. Police were still investigating what caused him to fall.

The mall had closed off the area, where actress Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund was about to take the stage for a commercial event which was called off following the incident.

In video circulating online after the incident, the boy appears to climb onto the escalator handrail when he falls.

This is a developing story and may be updated without notice.
