When two blind patrons unable to grill their own meal contacted a downtown Korean BBQ eatery for information, owner Sirintra “Milk” Ruensukhon did more than welcome them.

The owner of the Me Seoul restaurant in Soi Sukhumvit 70 stepped up to help and personally prepared their food, a feel-good story she recounted last night on social media.

“Tonight, my heart is full, I’m very happy,” she said. “We are all friends. Brothers and sisters. If you can read this on your iPhone, I would like to say thank you very much. If there is another opportunity, allow me to help you grill, peel shrimp, and shellfish again.”

Sirintra first heard from the couple, who were not identified, in a message asking whether they would be able to dine at her restaurant due to barriers they had faced at other restaurants.

“Sawasdee ka, I would like to ask if there are numerous staff at the restaurant? We are blind but we like to eat grilled meat,” it read. “I am unable to grill meat myself but would like to ask if staff are available to help?”

The post was accompanied by videos of Sirintra helping the couple, who gave her the OK to share their story, dining and laughing at an outdoor table.

“My heart has swollen,” Facebooker Nichanun Mungkalapiyaporn wrote in one of nearly 2,000 similar comments. “This is very cute, thank you for being so kind,” Biwniez Wattanatam said.

Sirintra, who said she talked and laughed with the pair for two hours, added that she was struck when they told her many similar restaurants won’t let them dine unattended.

“So [they] can’t really eat this sort of food as much as the average person,” she recounted.

She said it was a learning experience.

“As fellow human beings, we should be sympathetic and considerate of others,” she wrote in a follow-up comment. “They are human too. They said they were lucky to be born just the way they are, which touched me.”
