Welcome to Winter. While we were still sweating today after going outside for a whole five minutes, Bangkok’s going to get at least a bit “colder” this weekend, according to the Meteorological Department.

The department announced today that Bangkok can expect temperatures to drop as low as 21 degrees Celsius, starting on Friday. There’s also a small chance of rain (10 percent) in the capital as well.

While 21 isn’t exactly parka weather, it does represent a pretty steep drop given that we’re still rocking a “usual” 33 degrees Celsius during the day and 27 degrees at night, so we’ll believe when it happens.

Meanwhile, the department also has warned people in the country’s north to take care of their health due as temperatures get legitimately chilly up there. Last week, the temperature at the top of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak, dropped to -1 degrees, resulting in an usual scene of frosty leaves.
