Bangkok Fight Night: Nawaphon Nakornloung vs. Juan Hernandez in WBC World Flyweight Championship

Presented by BEC TERO

The World Flyweight Championship is happening here in Bangkok and Thailand’s very own hero of boxing will be in the ring. Don’t you dare miss this chance to cheer on our own world #1 challenger, Nawaphon Nakornloung, as he meets the world #2, Mexico’s Juan Hernandez, in the ring on Mar. 4, 2017 at Nimibutr Stadium.

The World Boxing Council World Flyweight Championship, staged by BEC Tero and Nakornloung Promotion, will broadcast live on Channel 3HD (33). So head to the stadium or grab your popcorn and cozy up on your couch. Either way it’s going to be a great match that’ll leave us on the edge of our seats!

The fight is set to be an epic bout of skills, stamina and strength. Nawaphon is on an amazing 36-match winning streak with 28 knockouts. His unwavering commitment and razor sharp focus has made him the pride and joy of Thai boxing. (And you know how we get when one of our own hits the world stage! Pride can’t really begin to describe it.) But Juan “Churritos” Hernandez is a strong contender with a record of 19 fights and 18 wins.

A little background info in case you didn’t know: The WBC World Flyweight Championship title (112 pounds) is currently unoccupied. The reigning champion Roman Gonzalez of Mexico has moved up to fight in the 115-pound Super Flyweight class, leaving the Flyweight belt up for grabs.

Will Nawaphon claim the title and become WBC World Champion in the same weight class as the legendary Pon Kingpetch? We’ve been waiting to see one of our own claim the coveted prize since Pon defended his title 3 times. Hey, at least we can cheer on Nawaphon at the title fight right here on our home turf! We get the first-hand experience here, how can anyone possibly say no?

In addition to the main bout there will be an undercard of four fights: Thailand’s WBC Asia Light Flyweight Champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam will take on Mexican prodigy, Yudel Reyes; WBC Asia Bantamweight Champion Suriyan Sor Rungvisai will fight Ruben Manakane from Indonesia; and two additional fights between Thai boxers will feature WBC Youth Super Flyweight Champion Kongsuk Por Fahkamron against Olelek Lardswaiwintage and WBC Asia Continental Light Flyweight Champion Namphol “Mark” Sithsaithong against Pornpetch Morntanacountry.

Don’t miss this exclusive chance to watch a WBC World Championship event live right here in Bangkok!
