Banks are offering nationwide free ATM withdrawals starting tomorrow through Jan. 3.
Today, Predee Daochai, chairman of Thai Bankers’ Association, said that 15 banks had agreed to the measure as part of a way to serve customers that are visiting Bangkok to pay their respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, reported Bangkok Post.
Withdrawals are already free for ATMs owned by the issuing bank and in the issuing region. However, when you withdraw at your bank but outside of your region, ATMs can charge as much as THB15 per withdrawal.
