An approximately three-meter-long crocodile, believed to have escaped from captivity, has been spotted emerging from the Chi River in northeastern Chaiyaphum province this morning.

This is the second sighting since locals first spotted the ancient-looking beast on Saturday. Crikey, indeed.

However, residents believe the creature is not the only crocodile on the loose in their neighborhood. Some people said they had also spotted another 1.5-meter long specimen just a couple of kilometers from where the other one was sighted.

They believe the two are show crocodiles that broke loose from one of the many crocodile shows in the area, yet no one has taken responsibility for the runaway reptiles, reported Sanook.

Expert crocodile catchers from Nakhon Ratchasima province has been assigned to capture the creatures.

Chaiyaphum Governor Narong Wonsiew said he hoped they could capture the crocodiles without harming them.

Putting them down is, reportedly, the last resort.

In the meantime, Narong urged all residents to refrain from fishing and swimming until the scaly beasts have been captured.
