After reports of a temple worker throwing a dog two stories to its death, police are searching for the angry staffer, identified only as Somsak, 62, who ran away after committing the horrific deed. The incident happened in Nonthaburi, at Pak Kret’s Wat Ruangvej Srimongkol.

On the advice of the temple’s Phra Wiroj, local woman Wilai Wimolsing, who had fed the dog for many years, went to the police to make a complaint.

Wilai, whose home is close to the temple, told police that Somsak killed the dog, called “Mom” by locals, and hid its body in a deserted area before escaping, reported The Nation.

The supposed reason Somsak threw the dog to its death? It often trespassed in the temple pavilion and made the man angry.

A monk at the temple also looked after Mom, caring for the dog since it was a puppy and nursing it back to health after it was hit by car. He said that while he was praying on Monday night, he heard a loud noise and came out to find out the dog died.

The dog’s body was sent to Kasetsart University’s Veterinary Hospital to confirm the suspected cause of death.
