As of now, all hotels around the Royal Plaza and nearby areas are already fully booked for the royal cremation ceremony for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on October 26th, 2017.
At the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel, the closest hotel to the Royal Plaza, all 300 rooms have been reserved by people hoping for convenient travel on the day of the royal cremation, according to Thai News Bureau.
In addition, all 48 rooms of Boonsiri Place Hotel, another hotel that is a few hundred meters from the Royal Plaza, have been fully booked since last year. Many of the hotel guests are officials working at the Royal Plaza.
As for hotels on Khao San Road, such as Ban Chat Hotel and Khao San Palace, no vacant rooms are available at all this month. Many of the guests are Thais from different provinces who want to stay as close to the Royal Plaza as possible.
