UPDATED: Police now say 2 bombs responsible for Siam blasts, 1 injured
A moment of panic took hold Sunday night as two transformers exploded loudly outside the Siam Paragon shopping mall, prompting the BTS Skytrain system to shutter the station located there.
The two explosions were heard just after 8pm, according to initial reports online, and no one has been reported injured. BTS Siam immediately closed its security gate after the incident. People reportedly ran from their tables where they were eating dinner while others scrambled for safety.
Authorities have confirmed it was one or more electrical transformers that exploded.
