The first stop on the far side of the river, Thonburi offers lots of inexpensive housing options close to the river. Though this used to be a bit of a no-man’s-land, thanks to the many English teachers and Thai artists renting apartments there, some options have sprung up. The Jam Factory offers a place for creatives to gather, network, eat, drink and relax. Khlong San Market is great for cheap eats and people-watching and some small galleries have also opened up in the area.
