Been Naughty? Ho Ho Homicide holiday murder mystery dinner offers unique celebration

If you’re looking for a more fun way to celebrate the holidays than a staid hotel buffet or getting wasted with your co-workers next to the office copy machine, Ho Ho Homicide might be just what you’re looking for.

For the first time, expat favorite bar Check Inn 99 teams up with the Comedy Club Bangkok crew to create — what will hopefully be — the first of many themed murder mystery dinner theater evenings.

This Christmas-themed affair will feature a full dinner buffet included in the ticket cost, live band featuring Cherry of Music of the Heart, and at least six actors hidden among the audience ready to make your murder fantasies a near-reality.

Theatergoers will each get a role to play when they show up, as well as an opportunity to dress up with prizes being awarded to the most creative.

If the event is as popular as expected, Check Inn 99 owner Chris Catto-Smith will plan future nights with themes that may include pirates, prom night, The Great Gatsby and more.

Catto-Smith said that he is excited about the event and that, “We’ve forgotten to have fun being expats. This is a great opportunity to grab a group together and have some fun.”

The premise of the show is that “It’s Christmas time at the North Pole and everyone is working hard to make sure this is a holiday to remember. But a couple of characters are unhappy with the way Santa is running the workshop. You better not shout, you better not cry, or you might not make it out alive.”

After the “murder,” the audience has to work together to figure out whodunit. Each character is a suspect and one did the deed — it might even be you. The answer is revealed at the end of the night and those that guessed correctly win a sleuth prize.
