Remember back in the day when you’d wake up early to spend your entire Saturday playing your favorite video games? Back when floppy disks were an actual thing, not just an intangible icon and everyone at school had their favorite Mortal Kombat character, even though computer graphics had a long way to go. Remember those huge pixelated characters that seemed so cool and cutting edge? Good times, right? But time flies faster than Liu Kang’s signature Flying Dragon Kick. (MK fans get it.) And in Thailand, the world of gaming has come a really long way.

Back in 2012 a group of passionate Thai gamers started calling themselves TGU or Thaigeruppercut (if you’re a fan of Street Fighter or especially Sagat, you know this epic killing move). They ignited the Thai gaming industry by creating the Thaigeruppercut Tournament, a competition that made it possible for Thai gamers to go head to head with their international counterparts

The tournament grew faster than the TGU team ever dreamed of. Thaigeruppercut Tournament is one of the biggest gaming events in Bangkok. The digital battlefield/real life event attracts top international competitors, especially those from the leading gaming nations of Korea and Japan. The adrenaline-rushing tournament is considered a must stop destination on the pro tour and has been the key catalyst to build up the skills and reputation of Thai gamers.

The competition took place in July this year and attracted such famous gamers as Daigo, Tokido, Tanukana and many more. Watch and see just how dramatic and thrilling these virtual battles can get.

Good gamers need good gear for the fight. Top fighters at Thaigeruppercut Capcom Pro Tour and Tekken Pro Tour choose Acer Predator for their epic battles. So, if you’re an ambitious gamer, or just someone who appreciates kickass graphics and sick speeds, go grab some of the good stuff here and don’t miss a chance to be a part of the event next year.
